Highland Ayurveda Winter Retreat

Learn the Art of Self-Healing

18–21 February 2027
The Invernairne Hotel in Nairn, Highlands
Three nights from £1,125 per person
Limited to 15 guests

To celebrate Highland Ayurveda’s 5th birthday, I’m delighted to announce our first Restorative Winter Retreat — three days created around deep rest, rejuvenation and learning how to support your own health and wellbeing through the wisdom of Ayurveda.

In a world that so often encourages us to fight time and push through exhaustion, Ayurveda offers a different path: learning to work with our natural rhythms.

During the retreat we will explore Rasayana — Ayurveda’s traditional science of rejuvenation and healthy ageing — and discover practical ways to slow the frantic pace of modern life, nourish the body and mind, support resilience and reconnect with our natural capacity for restoration and renewal.

This isn’t simply a weekend away from everyday life. My hope is that you leave feeling deeply rested and with a greater understanding of how to care for yourself when you return home.

A restorative winter sanctuary

Our home for the retreat is The Invernairne Hotel in Nairn, a beautifully restored historic Highland house overlooking the Moray Firth.

With panoramic sea views, extensive gardens, a private path to the beach and roaring fires indoors, The Invernairne provides a wonderful setting in which to slow down, restore and reconnect.

We will have exclusive use of the hotel, creating an intimate retreat for a maximum of just 15 guests.

February in the Highlands invites us to do exactly what Ayurveda encourages at this time of year: turn inward, rest, nourish ourselves and conserve our energy. A key focus of the retreat is that you leave not only deeply restored and rejuvenated, but with practical Ayurvedic knowledge you can take home — including how to support healthy ageing, recognise imbalance and work with your body’s natural capacity for self-healing.

The food will be warm, seasonal and gently balancing — nourishing digestion while still allowing the body to feel lighter and restored.

Your retreat includes

  • Three nights’ boutique accommodation at The Invernairne

  • Seasonal Ayurvedic meals, morning chai, herbal teas and fresh juices

  • A personal Ayurvedic consultation before the retreat, allowing us to tailor the experience to your individual needs and a 30min consultation during the retreat to support you as you return home.

  • A 90-minute Ayurvedic Abhyanga massage with specially selected medicinal herbal oils

  • A wood-fired sauna experience, incorporating Ayurvedic oils and aromatherapy, with a cold-water bath or sea dip where conditions and constitutions allow

  • Restorative, healing and energising yoga

  • Meditation, breathwork, mantra and mudra

  • Sound baths and deeply restorative evening practices

  • Ayurvedic teaching centred around self-healing, Rasayana, rejuvenation and supporting healthy ageing

  • Coastal, river and nature walks

  • Protected time to rest, journal, explore the beach and surrounding landscape — or simply do nothing

  • Your own retreat journal and practices to help you continue what you have learned once you return home

Everything during the retreat is optional. The intention is not to fill every moment of your day. There will be space to rest, and practices can be adapted according to your needs.

Learn how to take Ayurveda home with you

A central part of this retreat is learning, not simply receiving treatments.

We will explore how everyday choices around food, sleep, routine, movement, stress and nourishment influence the way we age and how we feel.

You’ll begin to understand your own constitution and learn how Ayurvedic principles can help you recognise imbalance earlier, make small adjustments and create a more supportive rhythm for the life you actually live.

This is the art of self-healing: not looking for another quick fix, but developing the knowledge and awareness to work with your body rather than constantly pushing against it.

Optional Personalised Ayurvedic Treatment Guidance

For guests who would like to go more deeply into their individual health, an optional £150 Personalised Ayurvedic Consultation & Treatment Guidance Package will also be available.

This includes the more detailed Ayurvedic assessment and personalised guidance around nutrition, lifestyle and herbs, together with your written Treatment Guidance to take home.

You do not need to book this when reserving your retreat place. Full details will be sent to confirmed guests.

Accommodation & pricing

Inclusive retreat prices start from £1,125 per person for the full three nights.

There is no single-person supplement for our dedicated single rooms.

A selection of room upgrades will also be available, including larger boutique rooms, sea-view rooms, four-poster rooms and the beautiful Firthside Junior Suite.

You do not need to choose your room now.

Guests who reserve a place will receive full accommodation details and upgrade choices by the end of October.

Reserve your place

The retreat is deliberately small, with a maximum of 15 guests.

A £250 deposit per person secures your place.

Once your deposit has been received, your retreat place is reserved, and I’ll send further information by the end of October, including accommodation choices, room upgrades and the remaining payment schedule.

Cancellation: If you cancel, your £250 deposit is non-refundable unless we can refill your place, in which case it will be refunded less any reasonable costs already incurred. If Highland Ayurveda has to cancel the retreat, all payments made to us will be refunded in full.
